Edit: The Public Hearing for the 2023 budget and subsequent budget Resolutions has been rescheduled for Monday, December 12th at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. at City Court there will be a Public Hearing to hear comment on the 2023 Budget. The tentative budget can be viewed on the City website at norwichnewyork.net under Public Documents.
City Hall will be closed at lunch time from noon to 1:00 on October 3rd to October 7th due to a staffing shortage. You may drop your payments off in the drop box near the front door. Regular hours will resume next week.
Milling of streets slated to be paved in 2022 will begin on Monday, August 8th. Please ensure vehicles are not parked in the street. Milling will start at Marconi, Prentice, O'Hara, Rowley, Brown, Columbia, Front; continuing to Eaton, Locust, Academy, Mill, Willard, Cortland, S. Plymouth, Canasawacta; then Hillview Dr., Hillview Ct., Eric, Silver, Berry.
NYSEG has informed us that they have many crews working in the area. Power will be restored throughout the day with the remainder to be restored by 11:30 p.m. tonight (Monday, July 25). Please remember that they have NOT provided dry ice to the Fire Department for distribution.
The Common Council will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on May 17, 2022 or as soon thereafter as may be heard, relative to Proposed Local Law B of 2022 - Chapter C Charter, Title XI Fire Department to hear public comment to remove section 193. Volunteer Members. The proposed law amendment can be found on the City website at www.norwichnewyork.net under Legislation.
The DPW will pick up limbs and branches down from the STORM through Friday, May 6. After that the regular guidelines for the Spring Yard cleanup will resume. Those can be found on the City's Facebook page at City of Norwich, New York.

City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 17, 2022 for training. We will reopen on Tuesday. Payments can be placed in the drop box at the front door if needed.
As we say goodbye to 2021, the Yard Debris pickup has ended. There will be a pickup in the Spring, usually beginning in April.
